Ta-Daa! Yet another weird science equipment. (Some weird static ball thing) This is the thing that typically makes your hair stand on its ends. It wasn't for our class, but for a different physics class. She anyways let us try it out at the end of class. It had many safety precautions.
1. Stand on top of an insulator. If on floor, you will get shocked.
2. Don't forget to discharge with discharger after using it one time. If not, the next person to use it will be shocked.
3. Even if you're the same person, don't take off your hand and put it back on it again. It does the same as 2. does. You will get shocked.
4. No one should touch one who it using it currently, or you will get shocked.
5. After you're done using it, turn it off, then get off the insulator, or you will get shocked.
6. Be sure not to get shocked.
First, the teacher showed us an example. Well, apparantly, the hair only stands up for those who don't have clumped, curly, or messy hair. So no, it doesn't work that well for that purpose.
After she was done, this guy decided to try it out. He stood on top of a small board (insulator), turned on the thing and put his hands on it.

(Bzzt.) Ah.
*takes off hand in surprise and puts it back*
(Bzzt.) Ouch.
*takes off again and puts it back*
(Bzzt.) Ow!
*you should know by now*
(Bzzt.) Argh!
Teacher: Whoops! Forgot to discharge it.
Haha. Fun classmates, fun equipment, and fun teacher.
I'm looking forward to the physics class.
